The Telegraph

Real shepherds can only dream of luxuries such as a log-burning stove, double bed, electricity, shower, double-glazing and gourmet meal deliveries. But make no mistake; while undoubtedly well appointed, these are real shepherds huts, with real sheep, on a real farm offering dramatic, rural views.

My husband and I took a mini-break to experience the shepherd’s life, with a hefty dose of luxury. Just an hour from where we live, it was the perfect holiday to simplify life, connect with nature and indulge in excellent local food and wine.

Girl About Travel

The perfect excuse to get away from it all in a cute and cosy shepherds hut surrounded by beautiful open skies and of course a herd of sheep in the Kent countryside, perfect for a romantic, short break in Kent.

Making yourself at home here is instant and easy; I brew some tea and soon drift into full-blown relax mode. Having your own hut is a bit like childhood daydream come true, especially if, like me, you love a mini solo adventure (although it’d make a sweet romantic getaway too).

Escape everyday life, unplug and stay in a cosy Shepherd’s Hut for a night or three! The perfect romantic escape.

A little taste of the wild open expanses of The Romney Marsh experienced from the cosy comfort and warmth of this beautiful Shepherd Hut - a snug bolt-hole perfect for the whole family. The wind howled and the rain lashed, but we hunkered down and listened; hot chocolate in hand, Monopoly on the table and the log burner roaring in the corner filling us with warmth.

We soaked up all The Romney had to offer and loved every second. Bracing walks directly out on the Marsh, watching the sun set from the steaming heat of the outside bath, watching for birds, dinner on the grill and s’mores for those who still had space! A well timed Easter visit meant we also enjoyed feeding the lambs in the barn.

A perfect stay with everything we could have needed! Thank you

We had a fantastic stay, the room decor was fantastic and clean. The views and surroundings incredible. We will recommend and come back ourselves.

We had the breakfast add on, the sausages, bacon and eggs were top quality

What an adventure!! Not only visiting more of East Sussex and Kent but staying in a Shepherd's Hut on a working farm. It was everything I expected and more. Total comfort with everything, almost, at arms length.

Forget sleeping under canvas or in a caravan, this is the way to go!

Lovely quiet location in middle of sheep. Compact but beautifully appointed accommodation. Good quality welcome pack .

Very handy to visit the Marshes ( we wanted to re-visit a lot of the stunning old Churches of the Romney Marsh) and about 30 mins from Dungeness.

Kristina very friendly and helpful. Would be delighted to return again.
